What 2010 can tell us about 2012
Submitted by Drew Mckissick on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 15:15Now that the 2010 mid-term elections are over and (most of) the ballots have been counted, it’s worth a look to see what issues played the greatest role in the election and what that may tell us about 2012.
Of course there are a lot of issues, but from a conservative Republican standpoint, the most important ones to identify are those which played the greatest role in motivating voters to support massive Republican gains at all levels of governance – and what might do so again the next time they head to the polls.

The four rules to winning an election
Submitted by Drew Mckissick on Thu, 01/21/2010 - 16:19When it comes to elections, organizing for success and winning isn't complicated and it's not a secret. In fact, the rules haven't changed since this country starting holding elections.
The "rules" were spelled out best by someone who (at the time) was a little known congressman from Illinois who went on to get himself elected President.
The four rules:
1. Obtain a complete list of voters
2. Determine how they will vote
3. Contact the favorable voters
4. Get your voters to the polls

The results from the latest special congressional election are in and, like the two before it, the news is not good. We've now had three Republican seats in a row fall to the Democrats in the last few months in districts that George Bush carried easily in 2000 and 2004.
This is more evidence that the Republican "brand" is in trouble. And, quite frankly, it's in trouble because it's been sullied bya number ofour elected officials.

Submitted by Drew Mckissick on Wed, 07/26/2006 - 23:00The state of Arizona is making a play for the distinction of implementing one of the absolute worst ideas ever to promote good citizenship.
With the ostensible goal of increasing interest in voting and thereby voter turnout, Arizonans will be faced this November with what is known as the Voter Reward Act. It is a referendum that would create a million dollar lottery awarded to a randomly chosen voter who cast a ballot in any given election. In other words, bribery.
The only real wonder is that it has taken so long to come to this.
