2nd District Convention

The SecondCongressional District Convention was held this past Saturday here in Columbia. Turnout was actually pretty good. Of course it's a little easier for those of us here in the midlands. But Kudos to the Beaufort crowd for having over twenty folksmake thetrip, which, if you've ever made that trip...especially to come to a morning meeting,is sayingsomething.

More speeches were made by all - including myself - andthen they got down to the real reason why they came - to elect officers and delegates to the National Convention.

Current District Chairman Tony Denny was re-elected without opposition. The Delegates and Alternates elected (in order) were: Rep. Joe Wilson of Lexington, Jim Corbett of Richland, Butch Wallace of Lexington, Lou Nolan of Richland, Doug Robertson of Beaufort and Katrina Shealy of Lexington. Congrats to all of you, and look forward to seeing you at the National Convention this summer.
